NO.LABEL.REQUIRED

i love fashion that is unique. it is probably why i dream of haute couture. i think theres nothing worse than seeing someone wear the same thing as you. in this world of mass market clothing and fast fashion, it often feels impossible to have a piece of fashion unique to you. when i found the website NOT JUST A LABEL whilst clicking around Pinterest, i knew i had found love. the website supports emerging designers by providing a platform to showcase their designs and, for a special few, sell them on the website's online store. because these are only small labels, their work is unique and not mass produced, such a rarity in today's market. sodo yourself a favour and check it out!

im loving greek label Conquistador, their use of material and construction creates a beautiful modern fusion.

SIRI_SVEN_HAALAND uses menswear silhouettes and added delicate fans of plisse cotton which can be manipulated to change the shape of the coat, a true piece of wearable art. The use of rope in other pieces creates great movement.

Wierd or Wonderful: Louis Vuitton Raindrop Besace.

People been bashing it ever since its photo was released, saying its a stupid garbage bag with a ridiculous price tag. I understand that the price is steep but this is no stupid bag, I actually think its witty. Am I the only one who likes/wants this?

Meet the now infamous Raindrop Besace from Louis Vuitton's Spring/Summer 2010 collection that was inspired by the lifestyle of the New Age Travelers. This utilitarian "rain bag" combines a luxurious feel with a delightfully practical shape. Though described by its detractors as a cheap plastic bag, the Raindrop Besace is actually made from soft and sumptuous patent lambskin leather which features delicate pleats and printed with vintage Louis Vuitton graphic signature.

Other details include natural cowhide leather trimmings, an adjustable strap with Louis Vuitton signature webbing for comfortable shoulder or cross-body carry, a soft nylon jacquard lining with woven Monogram pattern an interior zipped pocket and a bright orange textile drawstring to change the shape of the bag.

Raindrop Besace measures 18.9" x 13.4" x 2.8" and comes in two colors, Emeraud and Moka. Its available at Louis Vuitton stores for approx. US$2400.

Its all Denim and Fur

Louis Vuitton's new collection has a real futuristic vibe, things like telephone cords and exotic materials. As with all Vuitton items they come with a hefty price tag but i think its worth it!
First cab off the rank is the top of the line New Age Traveler Backpack, This piece takes a humble rucksack to unprecedented levels of splendor as its a patchwork of everything luxurious. The bag combines various lurex jacquard woven Monogram fabrics along with exotic skins including crocodile and snakeskin. Also, this bag is abundant of suede leather tassels and headphone cables, and two swinging furry foxtail charms topping it all off. Think Monogram canvas on steroids.

The craftsmanship of this piece is extraordinary. This extremely complex and over the top bag is the result of many hours of painstaking handiwork. In close inspection, you'll definitely appreciate Louis Vuitton's savoir-faire, their expertise in handling exotic leathers and unique materials and fabrics.

As tradition every season, Louis Vuitton's ultimate piece is only available by request with a deposit upon order. New Age Traveler measurs 12.2" x 20.1" x 11", procurable at Louis Vuitton for US$54,500. Which is pricey for anything, so for now i think we should all just stand back and admire it.

Next is the Monogram Denim Sunshine, the smallest bag from the sun collection, it comes in two colours, blue and purple but i shall concentrat on the blue for us guys.On the runway, these go-anywhere bags are hung with brightly colored leather tassels and furry fox tail bag charms.Sunshine was created using an exclusive denim bleaching technique to achieve that lovely 'bleached by the sun' look. The bag features natural cowhide leather trimmings and luggage tag, an adjustable strap with Louis Vuitton signature webbing for a comfortable cross-body or shoulder carry, an interior pocket and golden and colored metallic hardware.Available at Louis Vuitton stores for US$2330

The Sunrise is the bigger version of the sunshine and comes in two colours with different coloured straps, and would be complimented by the foxxy charm.

The Sunburst PM (and larger GM version) are basically the travel versions of the Sunshine, they are soft and suple and perfect to stuff your clothes into for a lazy weekend flight.

Finally the Foxy and Rainbow bag charms, add these to your bags for some extra luxxe and cool.

Another Amazing Designer - Antonin Tron

They say when it rains, it pours, and just as I find the work of Timo Weiland, I find this amazing French designer, its Alexander McQueen meets Vivienne Westwood meets the couture of my dreams. I’m going to let the clothing speak for itself, although most of it is about 2 years old, it is still AMAZING!

Designer Alert - Timo Weiland

The thing I like about late nights is that you often get bored, and end up trolling the internet for inspiration, and when I found this designer, I was inspired, his pieces are simple with a little twist. it is in one word, cool, and although you have to be in America, Europe or Japan to buy his stuff, I’m sure it's not going to be a long wait till we see it in our stores, this, I feel is going to be BIG.

New Dior Homme Spring 2010

A bit of a sneak peak of the new collection, I will try and rustle up some images of the show. The campaign shoot is very sombre... but I do love the Chukka (desert) boots with the zips in the back, it reminds me of a pair of Marc Jacobs high-tops I considered buying...

A Parisian Love Story: APC Spring 2011

After my previous post about Chanel's faux fur fiasco, I thought I would share the look book from another French brand, APC, and do you know what? I love it, its preppy, and fun, and clean cut, it’s what I would imagine Fred from Scooby Doo wearing (and that’s a good thing because that boy was rocking the cravat before Matt Preston). I love the suede brogues and that nautical trench, the collection is quite amazing....
